  • Consultation services: These services will be rendered by the diverse and highly qualified staff of the University of Pretorias Department of Geology.
  • Sample analysis or thin section: Clients will have the opportunity to discuss both thin section and analytical results with the BIC's analysts, and to access relevant literature resources for solutions on field problems.
  • Induction training: Training for newly appointed staff is provided on South African geology and specific stratigraphic units, igneous bodies and high-grade metamorphic belts (particularly the Bushveld Complex, Transvaal and Waterberg Basins, Karoo Supergroup, and the Limpopo Belt), as well as the economic geology of South Africa and Southern Africa, and on Engineering and Hydrogeology for the same regions.
  • Analytical services: Results will be interpreted by analysts.
  • Research projects: Our experts undertake extensive research, and have full use of our excellent research and analytical facilities.
  • Sabbatical visits: We accommodate sabbatical visitors and other professionals by providing them with access to our resources.
